Computerization Secures Extra $5Bn Annual Revenue for BBC
|
 |
Whilst in charge of a team of consultants Peter identified strategies that allowed the BBC to realise an added $5 (£2.3) billion in annual licence revenue.
This secured the ongoing facilities management contract for my client (Capita) for an additional 10 years.
The BBC secures the majority of its funding by collecting a

licence fee from every household in the UK.
Many TV viewers consider it their personal goal avoid payment and have developed many tactics to evade payment.
Evasion had been for many years a major cause of lost revenue.
My team, working with key business stakeholders, including

debt collection agents, created a method by which we could identify persistent non-payers through patterns of evasion based on historical CRM data that could leverage statutory changes to recover debts more effectively.
Additionally the company leveraged modernised billing methods to minimise the number failed payments from customer bank accounts, saving costs.

Smart Management Delivers Cost Efficiencies

Whilst in charge of IT application deployment for The News Group and as part of a major change in the systems landscape Peter negotiated an alternative deployment strategy saving $400,000 in ERP deployment for a 9-month project.
During deployment he saved a further $200,000.
He assessed all of the costs which led to the excluding some modules and restructured the implementation approach to

ensure delivery was focusedon specific business problems.
Software vendors often portray themselves as the deployment experts, yet they often over quote delivery requirements and miss client goals. This deployment limited this exposure, leaving the company with options for future expansion.
As Project Manager for DWA Consultancy Peter turned around a failing project for the UK Post Office and circumvented potential penalties in excess of $2 million per day,

by leading two parallel Data Warehouse projects and providing interfaces between their payment system and third party vendor systems.
He also revolutionised Scottish Water’s customer service and delivery reputation by providing them with the IT tools to quickly analyze water telemetry readings both operationally and through Data Warehouse, enabling the delivery of rapid response teams to correct off-site emergencies.

to report performance one month after the fact.
After Peter led the team of consultants for Intellectual Answers, BA was able to have their analysts spend 90% of their time assessing corporate performance instead of processing data, reporting 3 days after month end.
